Vanja Žunić was born in 1997 in Belgrade, Serbia. She is currently studying at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, at the New Media department. With her works, she emphasizes the importance of poetics of things in the everday life. She chooses subjects with evoke the feeling of empty spaces, things often forgotten, and raises social questions. Vanja works in various media – photography, video, installations, ceramics. One her recents works is „Mrtva priroda“ (Still Life), in which she took pieces of garbage fom the streets and replaced them with ceramic replicas. With this, she changed the reality of these objects, once representing consumption and the relationship people have towards the everyday objects. Her creative activity strives to give a different view on the contemporary world around us.
