Ljubiša Jocić (Belgrade, 1910 - 1978) traveled to Paris in 1928, where he studied sculpture and came in contact with Surrealists. He published first poems in 1929 in the Belgrade magazines, Europe and 50. In 1938, Jocić collaborated with the Parisien magazine Commune. In the same year he permanently returned to Belgrade. During the Second World War, after several years of hiding from police in Belgrade, he joined the Partisans. In 1956 Jocić held an exhibition of abstract paintings in Paris (Photo de Bon), reviewed by Michaux. The same paintings were later exhibited in Belgrade. Jocić published several books of poetry and novels and made fifteen short and one feature film.
