With the exhibition "Avant-Garde Tendencies in Croatian Art" the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery fully valorises and presents, for the first time in Croatia, the avant-garde happenings in all artistic modes of expression during the 20th century. By presenting masterful artworks, sculptures, photographs, design, magnificent architecture and ubranist plans great writers, theatre, film and dance contributions, the exhibitions reconstructs the spiritual and cultural vibe in which Croatian Avant-Garde and Neo-Avant-Garde was created and became a part of a wider network of European Avant-Gardes.
The exhibition encompasses the timespan of around sixty years, from the beginning of the 20th century and the Croatian Spring Salon, or the emergence of Expressionism, through to the Neo-Avant-Garde happenings appearing in the Post-War period, until the last surges of Avant-Garde in the end of the 70s and early 80s of the last century.
